When compared to other erosion and sedimentation control mats, coir mat 70 has a higher strength that allows it to be used in areas with slopes between 2:1 and 1:1 and flows up to 12 fps (feet per second). The standard life span for coir erosion control mat 70 is 4-6 years, depending on location and project-site conditions.
